Manufacturing - R & D Lab Test Engineer

Deublin Company is seeking a Test Engineer to join our R&D team in the US, Waukegan, IL manufacturing facility. The R&D Lab Test Engineer is responsible for conducting experiments, tests, and analysis in a laboratory setting. This work will support the development of new products or technologies and also contribute to the innovation and improvement of existing products.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Design and plan experiments based on project requirements and objectives.
  2. Conduct tests and trials in the laboratory environment according to established protocols and standards.
  3. Document and record experimental data accurately and meticulously.
  4. Analyze experimental results using various tools and techniques.
  5. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  6. Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical Engineering
  • Minimum two years of related work experience (testing of manufactured/machined parts). Hands-on experience with design and construction of laboratory test equipment/fixtures and instrumentation.
  • Understanding of pneumatic/hydraulic equipment and electrical motor/control.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project priorities and timelines.
  • Willing and physically able to travel up to 5% of the time for meetings/training.

 

This position is located at our Waukegan location and works in the office four days per week with one day per week remote.  The position requires up to 10% travel, both domestic and international.
